MacKenzie Cahill has dealt with overbearing and overprotective brothers her entire life, making it near impossible to enjoy her teenage years. Having a boyfriend was practically impossible until she met a guy that wasn't afraid to stand up to them - Dominic. He was sweet, thoughtful, and everything MacKenzie ever wanted in a man.

But when they go away to college at Old Dominion University, MacKenzie sees a whole new side of Dominic and begins to wonder if he really is different from every other guy.

Her world is turned upside down after a party, and her brothers' best friend Hunter is the one there to offer her a shoulder to cry on. The chemistry between them is electric, and feelings for each other that have been hidden for years are finally voiced.

Is Hunter willing to be disloyal to his best friends in order to be with the one girl he's always secretly wanted?

MacKenzie had been in love with Hunter her whole life. But the problem is that hunter is her brothers' best friend and he wasn't willing to risk her and their friendship having a relationship with her. So she moved on with Dominic.

Dominic. I loved him - then hated him and then loved him again. So basically, me and Dominic had a love-hate relationship all throughout the novel. He has his faults and it was sad that he succumb to temptation and hurt Kenzie along the way. But he redeemed himself in the latter part of the novel. His actions were novle and it shows that no matter how grave his mistakes were, he still cared so much for Kenzie.

The Brothers. I can feel Kenzie's frustrations, having brothers like hers. They were over protective of her because she was the youngest and the only girl in the family - but up to what extent? and until when?

Hunter. At first, I was not really sure if I'm going to love Hunter. I want a man  who is willing to fight and stand up for me. Someone who's not afraid and doesn't have second thoughts to be with me. Hunter is not that. He needed a bad wake up call for him to come to his senses. Granting that there are long-standing relationships involved- but then when you love someone, really love them, you must be willing to take some risks.

Kenzie. Her character was awesome. I love how it developed and how her character matured despite the fact that she was considered to be the baby of the family. Although she tried to move on from Hunter and was trying so hard not to love him - they still became good friends and the rejection didn't really affect that relationship that much. I can't blame her for trying to move on. He won't fight for her, he wouldn't even consider a relationship. I also loved her more with the decisions she made and how she accepted the consequences of her actions in the latter part of the novel.

Jay & Hailey. They are amazing, amazing friends who loved and supported her. Anyone would be lucky to have both these girls in their lives. I'd love to read their own stories with their respective partners as well, especially Hailey's :)

How can you not love it?
Despite the cliffhanger- which I didn't expect because I wanted Hunter & Kenzie's HEA, since it's almost, almost within their reach. I wanted to move on to the next sibling - Mason or Cooper and read their stories!!! Nevertheless, the ending had my blood rushing in excitement for the sequel! I need it!

Trying Not To Love You is a story about a love worth fighting for. A journey of two people who, despite how the world is trying to drive them apart, still found the way back to each other. I do hope they'll have their happy ending because they truly, truly deserve it.

If the cover made you want to read the novel (just like me), I assure you it's worth your time.

Danger!
For those who doesn't like cliffhangers, then I'd suggest you better wait.
