Destroying the Wrong by Evelyne Snow - Book Tour, Book Review

Upper YA due to mild sexual content and language.

Boy-crazy Alissa Sullivan has got it made -- a supportive, loving family, a cause she believes in, and her new boyfriend. With her best friend Kat at her side, she was counting the days until the end of high school when they could go away to college together. Then she met Scott, a man who wouldn't touch her but would turn her life upside-down.

Katherine Horne is perfectly content being in the background. All she wants is to graduate and get out of the town she's grown to loathe. She'd do anything to avoid confrontation but when she finds herself in increasingly humiliating situations, she realizes some things can't be ignored. Especially when it comes to protecting her best friend.

With their carefully planned futures suddenly unraveling, Kat and Alissa will come to realize one thing: fate has one plan for them... karma has another.

 MY REVIEW -
Destroying the Wrong is a story of two best friends: Alissa and Katherine.
Katherine Horne is one unlucky girl. The universe must have connived to make her life miserable. Her – the girl who is contented to remain in the background. Lately, she finds herself in embarrassing and humiliating instances – whatever she does, whatever she says, she will always end up the same. When she became a victim of bullying, instead of fighting back, she decided to sink into her own world, gave up her social life, lived like a recluse, refused to attend to any school activity (yes, including PROM) and decided to take online classes for the summer so that she can finish high school early. All she wanted to do was to get out of the town she grown to hate.

Alissa Sullivan is one lucky girl. The stars are in her favor – she has a hot boyfriend, an amazing family, she’s passionate in the cause that she strongly believed in. With her best friend, she’s counting the days they finished high school and go to college together. Everything was just normal – until Scott came into her life. This man – who’s way older than her hasn’t touched her (because she’s a minor), but he’s counting the days until her birthday. While doing that, he does and says things which makes her more confused and turns her world in topsy-turvy.

I like these two girls – they have a great friendship. They are more than each other’s friends – they’re more of like sisters. Both are lucky to have one another. I feel sad for Katherine, I wished that the world would throw her some luck, but no. I wanted her to grow some guts and fight for herself rather than allow other people to push her around. It was nice that Alissa is usually on her side, fighting back for her. But Alissa has her own secrets too. This girl is playing some dangerous game. I’m not sure if Scott is a good or bad guy. I wish to know him more on the next novel.

One topic discussed in this book is about Bullying. Bullying is a long-standing problem of the school system everywhere. A lot of students have been victims, some even may dropped out of school just to avoid being ridiculed. Some can be strong enough to withstand it or fight back – but others don’t. Good thing that support system over the internet, social media sites at the same time in the community are readily available to offer the support needed.

The ending was okay, I have to wait for the next one in the series though. I wanted to know more about Dillion and Kat – I want to make sure that her luck is really changing and that finally, she’s going to have her happy ending after everything she had been through.

Destroying the Wrong is a story of friendship, survival and love.

AUTHOR BIO -
Evelyne lives in Arizona where she grew up most of her life. She has four children that like to drive her insane on a daily basis. The man in her life also drives her insane but is also very loving and supportive. He's a keeper! Traveling is her favorite thing to do, even if it's a short road trip.

Evelyne loves to read many different genres. She always thought about writing and was finally inspired by her friends to give it a try. Without her great support system, her first book, "Destroying the Wrong," would have never happened!

Things you don't know about Evelyne:
1. Her favorite movie is "So I Married an Axe Murder."
2. She can sing every song, word-for-word on Adam Lambert's first album.
3. Monsoon storms and winter drizzles help inspire her writing.
4. Football is her favorite sport even though the Cowboys have not had a good season in a really long time.
5. She loves school and would become a professional college student if it weren't so expensive.
6. She tries hard to be funny but most of the time is the only one in the room laughing.
7. People watching and giving relationship advice is her favorite past time.
8. What she wants to be when she grows up is still an unanswered question.
