MY REVIEW -
Have you ever wanted something you can’t have? It was something you never really wanted at first, but then it grew on you, you really wanted it, but you knew, deep in you that this thing you’re dying to have will never be yours – because of fate, circumstances, and the past.
Logan and Paige - their past had bound these two broken souls together whose lives were never the same again after the tragedy.
Logan murdered Paige’s brother  - and he didn’t even spend a single second in jail. He was bailed out by his lawyer-father.  Paige’s life was never the same again – she lost not only her brother, but her entire family. Her father succumbed to alcohol, while her mother withdrawn from the world. She was left to fend for herself. She enrolled at Granton University, and majored in Business, it wasn’t her dream – it was her brother’s. Getting away for school might give her a fresh start, or she’d like to think so until she steps on her first class and heard Logan Xander’s name.  What are the odds that the person she hated the most, the person who ruined her life and the person she didn’t want to see, is studying on the same university? Fate made a cruel joke as their paths continued to crossed. But he wasn’t quite the murderer she pictured him to be.

Logan Xander was different from the one she remembered in high school. Tragedy had affected Logan in ways she would not imagine. He may not have spent a single moment in jail – but his conscience, the guilt his carrying had made his life a living hell. Logan didn’t tell anyone about his past – so when this beautiful, hot, and angry girl came into Granton, he was ready to kiss his new life goodbye. She will SOON reveal his past – and everything he ever worked for, every acquaintance he gained would vanish in one snap. But she kept her silence.
He tried to get out of her way as much as possible, but when fate throws them together any chance it gets, they got to know more about each other. They saw through the anger, and the guilt – and when they did, when Paige did – she manages to forgive him for everything. Problem is that, she starts to like him – and the feelings are reciprocated. Will she take the risk and fall in love with the person who murdered her brother??
There might have been an attraction, but falling in love, liking each other, and most especially the forgiveness didn’t come easily. It was a process, a development that Linda Kage threaded with utmost care. It didn’t feel like it was rushed. But the moment it happened – it was perfect. This book will get you hooked, from the plot, down to the surprises, the twists and turns that will leave your mouth hanging open, the secrets that will shatter your heart, the moments that will captivate you and most especially the characters that you will love unexpectedly.  This is one of the most beautiful stories I have read this year, and Linda Kage had yet to disappoint me. I expected, she delivered. And she did deliver with flying colors.
This is one of those books that left me speechless once I got to the end-page. It was so beautifully written that I think I got another one of those book-hangovers with Logan and Paige. It’s not only the blurb, and the beautiful cover – but it’s the whole package of emotions that will seep through your senses, mark you, and leave you – yes, speechless.
