My Review

When you love someone, you wanted what you thought was the best of them – even though it breaks your heart, and it destroys your soul. That is what happened to Shelby, she thought she was doing the right thing by letting go the love of her life. They were so young that Shelby thought she’d hinder his future. They were perfect together, they were happy, and suddenly everything was falling apart.

It didn’t just end with the separation, something happened after it that nearly broke Shelby apart. It was good that she had a great support system to keep her on her toes.

Forward ten years – there were still secrets that haven’t come out. Shelby was still struggling to move forward with her life. She had so much to lose, she didn’t really sure where to start at first. But with the help of her friends and family, she was managing. It didn’t help that she was constantly keeping tabs on her ex-flame.

He’s the epitome of the guy going from rags to riches, and he’s a well known MMA Heavyweight champion and even famous for his wicked reputation. Matt “The Destroyer” Reynolds has everything now – women, money, popularity, but something was missing. Until she walks back into his life once again… and this time there was no way he was letting her go.

But you see, Second Chances are rare opportunities, when you are given the chance, you have to take the risk, plunge in it and give it all you got. But what of the secrets? The painful past? And the danger of the present?

I knew Kyle was vile, but I was more surprise on who was his accomplice. I wasn’t really sure and I was in total denial. After all, how can s/he possibly do that to Shelby after all that she had been through? Yep, I was pretty much surprised with the twist, felt great when they were working things out and devastated when the truth was finally out in the open. Would they have their second chance? Or will they let their past rift them apart? Both of them have points, both of them have reasons, I was torn on which side should I chose, so I remain at the middle (like Jace).

This is my second in the series, and I enjoyed reading this novel. I fell in love with Shelby, and Matt. I adore her friendship with Jace. They were indeed a solid team, and she was lucky to have him as a friend. Fighting For Love will make and break your hearts, make you pant, make you smile, make you tear up a little, and make you beg for more of these romantic, and sizzling reads from L.P. Dover.
