She’s not just young – but she was a bad, bad girl. Ryan
didn’t waste any moment for me to build her reputation in my eyes. In the first
pages, she came in strong. But I reserved my judgment for later, all I can say
for her is, WOW. This girl comes pretty strong. She knows what she wants, she
gets it, and she doesn’t apologize for wanting it. I didn’t know if I’ll love
her for it, or despise her.
They met in the weirdest circumstances, and Ryan did
leave an impression on the young good cop, Ryan. They were an odd pair, an
exact opposite, but they complement each other. She’s younger than him, and he
was way too good for her. She tries to seduce him, and he leads her into a
brighter path.
Ryan is not the kind of girl you bring home to your
mother. She’s a lot to take in. She has a strong personality. She’ll have sex on
the first date, her life has no direction, and curse words would string out of
her mouth. But, on the inside, this girl just needs someone to love her. Her
parents were a little bit too hard on her, and it was quite heartbreaking. I
wished, they’d spent more time with Ryan or give her a little faith.
As for Gabe – I WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU! If not for the fact
that…
He’s a good cop, he’s hot, and he’s really great but he
can be quite gullible, and at his age – he still values his family’s opinion.
Not that I don’t value my own family’s opinion about anything, but you just
take it into consideration, and choose on your own. He’s a grown man, for pete’s
sake, if he wanted to date Ryan, if he wanted her, he should be ready for what
his family would say, and keep Ryan safe from all the hurtful words his family
might throw her way. I was really disappointed at the dinner scene. Aw, I’m
sorry, but Gabe didn’t make it on my list of book boyfriends. He might did
something to redeem himself at the end, but for me, it was already too late.
Argh. How could you!!!!
This was my first Lindsay Paige, and I wasn’t
disappointed. I love the cover of this book – it’s beautiful. I like the plot
of the story, I like Ryan despite the imperfections, but Gabe, I’m still thinking
about forgiving him. Nevertheless, this was a wonderful tale of two opposite
people, in two different places in their lives meeting together, and falling in
love. There were a lot of hurdles considering their families and their
circumstances, but they made it, and amidst their differences, and all the
forces that prevented them to be together, they still had their HEA.
