War has a way of changing people - Captain Samantha Egan can't feel anything anymore. After she lost her best friend and saw a lot of awful things at the war, coming home seemed to be hard for her. She didn't know how to handle it, she didn't know what normal is and she wasn't sure about getting help.

Major Patrick Maclean is all you can want for Christmas. But it seems that the woman and child that he wants just left him. And it was killing him, one phone call made him realize that he needed to do something.

His love was something else. The moment he realize he wanted to fight - he put all his efforts into it, and gave her the support and love she needed. He didn't give up, didn't ran away. He pushed and fought not just for him, but for their daughter and future together. Indeed, true love can surpass just about anything.

It was short, emotional and beautiful timely story. I loved every page of it and finished it in one sitting. It is one of those heartwarming stories you'd love to read again and again.
