Adult Contemporary Romance

The highly anticipated third novel in the Searching For series from Jennifer Probst, “one of the most exciting breakout novelists” (USA Today), featuring a runaway bride and the man who wants to be more than just her best friend...

Genevieve MacKenzie has her life completely under control. About to wed the charming Chief doctor at the local hospital, she’s an up-and-coming surgeon with everything she could ever want. Until an escape through the church window on the day of her wedding sends her life into a tailspin...and flings her right into her best friend’s arms.

When Wolfe catches his best friend falling out a window on her wedding day, he doesn’t ask questions. He whisks her away, determined to watch over her and discover the truth behind her desperate escape. But when his feelings turn more than platonic, he realizes he may risk his most important relationship in order to protect his damaged heart, and the woman he loves.

Can Genevieve and Wolfe’s friendship turn into something deeper—or is it already too late for true love?

Sometimes the hardest, bravest thing in the world is to let someone love you.
Since her Marriage to a Billionaire series, I have loved Jennifer Probst and now, I loved her even more with her Searching for Beautiful. It’s romantic, sweet, and highly emotional. The feels!!!!!!! The roller coaster of emotion was just overwhelming – there were light moments, and then there were heavy. There were times when I can smile and laugh, and there were times when I couldn’t help but shed a few tears, or the hair on my arms would raise, or an intense, consuming rage.

I love how the story went, there were no boring moments, I think I was on the edge of my seat since the first chapter and never moved. Didn’t have the heart to put down this book either, because I might miss out on something. Especially the growing chemistry between the two best friends.

Gen and Wolfe had been best friends since the moment they have met five years ago. But the relationship Gen had with her fiancé brought a strain to their friendship. However, it was Wolfe who took her away when she finally followed her instincts and ran away from her groom on the day of her wedding.

It wasn’t her type to just make impulsive decisions. But her instincts were nagging her, and she couldn’t help but follow it. She needed some space, and it was Wolfe who provided it. They fell into their easy comfort, and familiar camaraderie.

Finally, Wolfe had his best friend back. He missed her company, he missed his best friend. He took a step back when she was in a relationship with David, but now that she finally realized that David wasn’t the one for her and danger lurks in the corner, he appointed himself her bodyguard.

Wolfe has secrets, and every now and then, readers would get a glimpse of what his life was, of what he was trying to forget, and it was utterly heartbreaking. No wonder he wanted to forget about it. Gen respected his secrets, she never asked and waited for him to spill it himself.

What he didn’t expect was the growing attraction between them, the buildup of emotion, the powerful attraction that consumed them both. They tried to put it aside first, thinking about their friendship. But temptation was too hard to resist. Would they be able to take the risk?

Gen was amazing, I think her transformation was brought about by the love she had for Wolfe, not just as her best friend. Wolfe had helped her heal the wounds from her previous relationship, and now she was ready to fight for what they have even if Wolfe was pretty adamant in saving their ‘friendship’. Gen now knows her worth and is ready to fight for it. Will Wolfe be brave enough?

Friendship will always be one of the most solid foundations of a relationship. But both parties should be brave enough to cross the line. Love, that all-consuming, powerful thing, would always be worth it.

The steamy scenes were jaw-dropping, but the emotions were just as intense as well. I think Searching for Beautiful is one of the most well-written book I have ever read so far this 2015. Jennifer Probst knows how to push your buttons, how to engage and satisfy her readers.

Not every path in the road needs to be followed. Sometimes it's smarter to quit and go home.
