Book Review | Falling Free by Tina Wainscott (@Tina_Wainscott)

The bestselling author of Falling Hard (“An addicting read!”—Jen McLaughlin) returns to the racing hotspot of Chambliss, Florida, where the only thing faster than the cars on the track is the surge of chemistry in the stands.

Ever since she was a teenager, Grace Parnell has had one ambition: to prove her father’s innocence and overturn his prison sentence. That drive led her to become a tough, compassionate lawyer—until the case hits a heartbreaking end. Now Grace is adrift, with no idea how to rebuild her life. It’s certainly not the time to fall in love. But from the moment she meets Artemis Tanner, their instant connection is undeniable.

A motor-sports pioneer, Tanner has come to this little coastal town for the racetrack—but he’s staying for Grace. Even though the standoffish attorney seems determined to stay out of reach, Tanner doesn’t need a law degree to tell that their attraction is very, very mutual. As her visits to the track become more frequent, and as Tanner learns more about Grace’s troubled family, he starts to pry open the tiny cracks in her controlled demeanor. Hidden beneath, there’s an incredible passion waiting to be set free.

Grace Parnell’s passion for justice was because of her father. It had shaped her to become who she is – a tough, hotshot and compassionate lawyer. She was proud of telling whose lying and whose not. But the case she had been working all her life ends in a heartbreak, and now she feels lost, and she was trying to find herself, of what she can do other than being a lawyer. It wasn’t the time to fall in love – or at least she thinks so until she cross paths with Artemis Tanner.

Can she possibly resist him?

Tanner was the definition of determined and persistent. He’s a drifter – figuratively and literally. He doesn’t have a permanent home to stay in, and he drifts car for leisure and sports. But for now, he opted to stay. After meeting Grace, there was no way he was going to move. He knows that they have the attraction and the chemistry, now if he can only break the walls that surrounds her.

You'd love both characters - of course they had their moments, but overall, they were easy to love. With everything that they have been through, readers would understand where they are coming from. Why all those walls were built.

This book is not any different. The moment I started, I couldn’t seem to stop until I finally reach the end. I love the twists and turns, the ups and downs, and all those surprises that come in between. I thought I knew what I was into, but some things would completely throw me off guard. This series should come with a warning, because the books are indeed highly addictive. You can easily drive into it, and get lost in the pages.
