It doesn't happen to all, but it happened to Allison when she was pulled into a social experiment with Social Media Sensation Esben.
Allison was really hard to love at first. I sort of hate her, she was hard to relate to at times, a lot of bitterness and angst, and a baggage of issues. But one day, her life turned a total 360.
Esben is the number one reason why I logged in to social media. Because despite all the false news, the trolls and bad stuffs being shown on my feed, there are pages (or people) who would share the good news, who would make you believe that there is goodness in this world. They are the light that shines through the darkness and would make you believe in humanity once again. There is a painful history behind his work, but it paved off. He was just plain wonderful and good with people. He's easy to like, and he's perfect for our close-guarded Allison.
180 Seconds is a journey of a girl, who is initially surrounded by hard, impenetrable walls - to love, belongingness, loss, tragedy and her happy-ever-after.
The book is filled with so many touching scenes- tearjerkers, heartbreaking, and awww-scenes that would make this an unputdownable read! (I finished this one in the wee hours of the morning because I didn't dare put it down). The final league of the book will make you believe in the impossible, and will give you much hope. It was an amazing ride with those two and all the help they could get.
Jessica Park wrote a story that is timely and relate-able. It validates what we already know about social media - how powerful it is, how it can make or break a person and how it can change lives.
I fell completely in love with it.
