Book Review | Royal Player by Katie McCoy

34777015

Charlie Davenport is the bad boy of British tennis - and third in line to the throne. He’s a beast on the courts, and a wild animal in bed (according to all the tabloids). Girls are lining up for chance at his crown jewels, and when I stumble into the wrong Wimbledon dressing room and catch a glimpse of his game, set, AND match, I can see why.

So what’s a little good luck kiss between f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶s̶ strangers?

I know better than to get involved with a bad boy like Charlie. But now he’s on a winning streak, he thinks I’m his lucky charm - and you know what’s luckier than a kiss?

Everything.

Suddenly, I've got paparazzi on my trail, exes coming out of the woodwork — and you don’t know ‘cutthroat’ until you’ve seen a pack of hungry socialites set loose near the Royal Family.

I’m in way over my head, and even worse - I’m falling in love. Can this American girl win her Prince Charming? Or will we both crash out of the championships in flames?

Wimbledon-meets-The Prince and Me in this hilarious, sexy new romance from Katie McCoy!

Rating: 4.5/5

Charlie, the black sheep of the Royal Family has always been misunderstood and he has long given up of trying to explain himself or his actions. The tabloids just love to sensationalize his every move. He’s charming, and yes, a total hottie and he plays tennis. He admits that he’s not the best – but this is where he excels.

Emmy your ordinary girl with a painful past and a whole lot of trust issues in between. She loves to design clothes, and is good in what she does if only she believes in herself more. Her trust, along with her heart has been broken a long time ago by a person whim she thought cared for her as much as she does.

Emmy went to London to go to places she has never been to, and to find her inspiration. She and her best friend, Paige (who is just hilarious) are both staying with her Aunt Suze (a complete opposite of her overprotective father) and finds a temporary work in the refreshment tent during Wimbledon season. What she didn’t expect was to came across and meet one of the most eligible bachelors in London – the prince himself.

Charlie’s life has always been under the microscope – and after meeting and knowing Emmy, he tries to protect her. But the paparazzi and public interest had caught her off guard. And the painful past she was trying to forget, the one that she tries to keep from everyone, was suddenly out in the open.

Emmy is easy to like and is very much relatable, she isn’t perfect, but she’s wonderful. She is finally trying to live her life and find her own adventure, and it isn’t that bad when her adventure includes a prince. Royal Player is fun, sweet, sexy read with just the perfect amount of drama to make it easy on the heart.
