You know the story.
Boy meets girl, they fall in love, two kids, white picket fence.
This isn’t that story.
This is more like . . .
Man meets woman. Man sleeps with woman.
Man meets another woman, sleeps with her.
And so on. You get the idea.
I own a small boutique hotel in New Orleans, the Kingston. I’ve seen men do some stupid stuff in the name of the woman they love, or at least the woman they love for the night.
That’s not me. I’m always in control. You’d be surprised how much you can get away with on just good manners and a smile. It’s the only way to keep my secrets safely locked away.
And my smile hides a lot. Until her.
She turns me down flat. Playing hard to get is my favorite game. It’s the thrill of the chase.
Only problem is, I think it’s me that’s getting caught.

REVIEW
Rating: 4.5/5

CONFESSION 1: I was rooting for someone else.
CONFESSION 2: Didn’t matter - because the book gave me something else. Chills. Heartbreak. Surprises.

Have you ever wanted for the hero to be with someone else rather than who is he supposed to be with? Well, never happened to me before this. I love Annie and Pierce’s friendship. They were close, they shared secrets and obvious that they love each other.

But here comes Sutton, I didn’t really feel the chemistry at first, because heck, maybe I was still rooting for #AnnPierce or something. And maybe it was just a phase for Pierce after the dreaded diet he’s going through. And yet, as you go along with the book, you’d realize that there is something in here. Something very important I couldn’t put my fingers into, and its not just about romance.

Yes, Pierce and Sutton eventually grew on me. It was hard to accept first, but Sutton like Annie was there for him when he needed her most, and accepted him and the secrets that he kept even though he didn’t share it with her yet. She was patient, and she fought for him.

The secret was so mind-blowing that it had every hair on my hand stood. I thought I knew what they were talking about, but no. Prescott Lane didn’t just give as a romantic read. She bravely tells us a REAL story that is happening in the community but is RARELY being discussed. Because - how in the world could that happened? But it does, and it’s there. It’s an eye-opener.

To The Fall takes an unexpected turn that had my head, my heart and every single senses that I have turning. Wow. This was something else. More than just romance and getting the man. I had that nagging feeling, but didn’t really realize it until it finally hit me in the face.
